WE NEED YOUR INPUT

OSEP is seeking stakeholder feedback on Innovative Strategies and Best Practices to Attract, Prepare, and Retain Effective Personnel. If you would like to provide feedback on this very important topic, please follow this link to share your input.

The Northwest Comprehensive Center (NWCC) is part of a national network that provides direct support to state education agencies ( SEAs) to carry out their important work.

The NWCC at Education Northwest works in partnership with the region’s SEAs to understand their priorities in order to provide high-impact support that is customized and responsive to each state’s evolving needs. Examples of assistance include:

Helping states develop their Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) plans and providing opportunities for state leaders to learn from each other as they implement state plans
Creating resources, tools, and professional development to support district implementation of statewide initiatives related to college and career readiness; standards, accountability, and assessment; and teacher and leader effectiveness
Facilitating a community of practice for our region’s SEA Indian Education directors to collaborate on strategies to improve education for Native students, in addition to supporting state-specific Indian Education initiatives
Conducting regular reviews of research and literature from vetted sources to provide Northwest educators with relevant and timely information focused on the unique needs of the region
Understanding the region’s rurality and establishing an ever-growing network of educators from some of the Northwest’s most isolated and remote communities to learn from each other, share strategies to meet their unique challenges, and spread best practices of the region’s rural schools
