OSEP is seeking stakeholder feedback on Innovative Strategies and Best Practices to Attract, Prepare, and Retain Effective Personnel. If you would like to provide feedback on this very important topic, please follow this link to share your input.
The Office of Special Education Programs (OSEP) holds annual meetings for OSEP grantees: an in-person conference and a series of virtual symposia. The goals of the meetings are to provide opportunities for attendees to get important updates and guidelines from Department of Education (ED) staff to become better grantees and to learn from and share their work (both challenges and solutions) with fellow grantees. In 2019, the Leadership Conference will be held in person in July, with additional engagement opportunities being held virtually throughout the year in a symposia format.
The Leadership Conference enhances leadership roles through opportunities to hear from experts in the field and to learn about evidence-based practices that will support participants’ ability to improve results for infants, toddlers, children and youth with disabilities and their families. Part B State Directors and their staff, Part C Coordinators and their staff, Parent Training Center Directors and staff, Part B and Part C Data Managers, Part D Technical Assistance Providers, State Advisory Councils and State Interagency Coordinating Councils should all attend.
The Project Directors’ Conference supports OSEP’s goal of improving results for infants, toddlers, children and youth with disabilities, and their families. The conference provides a forum for leadership to share important information with grantees to better their work, as well as a space for interaction among grantees to discuss current topics, goals, and strategies.
Each year, OSEP conducts a virtual Symposia Series to provide high-quality, timely, and evidence-based strategies focused on improving performance in a specific topic. Each symposium features live and pre-recorded presentations from a range of stakeholders, including experts in the field, practitioners, OSEP personnel, and other stakeholders, and includes a live question and answer session. In addition, participants are invited to explore topical resource collections posted on the symposium website highlighting relevant tools and exemplars.
